Bill Muckalt (born July 15, 1974 in Surrey, British Columbia) is a retired Canadian ice hockey forward.
In the BCJHL while playing for Merritt Centennials, Nanaimo defenceman Bill Zapf was checked from behind in a tragic accident by future-NHL player Bill Muckalt in a game in Merritt. Zapf is now a quadriplegic from injuries sustained in the hit.
Muckalt played his college hockey with the University of Michigan, and was a teammate of former NHLer Matt Herr. Selected in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft by the Vancouver Canucks, Muckalt played a season and a half with the Canucks before he was traded to the New York Islanders. Prior to the 2001–02 NHL season he was traded to the Ottawa Senators in the deal that sent Alexei Yashin to the Islanders. Muckalt would also play for the Minnesota Wild, as well as the Houston Aeros in the American Hockey League.
